The next step is installing the fire bricks all around the fire box, using a special heat stop mortar. If you want to, make an arch opening with the cut up bricks and wooden panels as the support. At this point, you want to let everything dry up for a couple of days. Then remove the wood from the arch and continue constructing a firebox and chimney as it’s said in your fire brick outdoor fireplace plan. Don’t forget about the chimney pipe.
